Eventing World Cup coming soon to Poland

There is just under a month to the day when the hippodrome in Morawa will change into the arena for the best riders who will contend for a cup in the Eventing competition.

The World Cup season will be inaugurated on May 12th in British Chatsworth. The second round of the competition will take place in Morawa, near Strzegom. Five international competitions, including CICO3* which ranks among not only the World Cup series, but also the Cup of Nations, a completely new cycle in the sports calendar of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, will be held during four-day event. – Such an Event is the only in the world, during which the World Cup as well as the Cup of Nations will be held in the same place at the same time– says event director Marcin Konarski

Such world's top riders as an Olympic champion Andreas Dibowski, Elmar Lesch, Johan Lundin and Dirk Schrade will come to Strzegom this year. From Poland there will be Paweł Spisak, the most award-winning polish evening rider, Łukasz Kazimierczak and Paweł Warszawski

Strzegom will already host the World Cup for the tenth time. As usual, the competition will start with a full of grace and elegance dressage test. Later, on Saturday competitors will face the demanding cross country. The arrangement of obstacles will be completely different this year. Moreover, the cross-country court will not run through the show jumping arena as it was in recent years. Competitors will have to ride the distance of 3600 metres. There will be 24 obstacles in the track and some of them will consist of two elements, so altogether, the horse will have to jump 35 times. The winner will be determined after the Sunday show jumping competition.

The Nations Cup in Strzegom

A huge equestrian holiday – Strzegom Horse Trials – became a permanent and inherent part of the international calendar of the main equestrian events. This year the competition will be held already for the tenth time. Moreover, in 2012 Strzegom competition will extend its current form. During Strzegom Horse Trials the World Cup will take place together with the Cup of Nations.
